These are our hotshot players….Way to go Ladies!

Won 2-1 against the Michael Brook Blast.
Team Scorers: Lisa Thorsteinson, Brenda Dickie
Many shots were made, but we just weren’t hitting the net last night. Our keeper Tammy made some fabulous saves to help us win the game since we weren’t taking advantage of our own chances.
Next game: July 1st at Mission Field #73 (CNC) @ 6:30 against our “rival” team Okanagan Hardword Fusion. We will be missing alot of players due to the holiday so we are hoping we have enough players to field a team.

June 24th Game: Won 3-0 against I-Sight Lakers.
Scorers: Lisa-2, Brenda-1
We were missing our goalie so Karla took this role to give us a shutout with her first appearance in net this year. Great Job Karla! We were able to finish the game without the okanagan storm rolling in. Currently we are standing in 2nd place with 2 points behind the Scotia Outlaws. We will be out to beat them on Canada Day to regain our 1st place spot.

June 10th Game: Won 5-0 against the Rebels. Played on the artificial turf which makes for a quick high paced game. The game ended with one of the opposition players almost passing out & puking due to a mild concussion sustained earlier in the game. Ambulances were called. The many nurses on our team went over to assist in care. Connie McCarthy was the attending nurse til after midnight. Thanks connie. Next game June 17th @ 6:30pm on the Westside (Damler & Hwy 97 behind the highschool). We will be missing our goalie & other players due to injuries this week.

Well it appears our ‘chicks’ are gaining ground, skill and fitness. It pays on the trails when you get those fitness rides in between. Great to see all of you stronger on the trails.

Fun ride, you bet. This ride is one you can do solo or grab another chick and get back out there. First flat on the trail was easily handled by ‘the team’ a good lesson in maintenance! Have you got a tube in your kit yet????
Oh yeah and log jumping 101 up and downhill was a snap. CLICK HERE Take a look how well you did!
You will all be ready to take on Venture Gear’s Mountain Bike Camp on July 4th. This will bring your skill levels up quite a notch. This half day camp only has room for a small group and the cost will be roughly $40. Register through venture gear by sending them an email. info@venturegear.ca to express your interest. let them know you are with ‘chicks in the sticks’ so we can stay in the same group. Don’t delay if this interests you get on the list now!
Happy trails chicks till we meet next week. Depart Venture Gear 6pm to Crawford to find the ‘lost lake’ moderate technical decent with and ‘easy out’ option. Or meet us at Crawford to depart @ 6:30pm.
Till then.

May 27: We won 7-1 against Springfield Autobody Storm. The wind factor always plays a big part at this particular field in Westbank. Scoring 2 goals the first half, missing numerous shots within inches of the goal post with the wind softening our shots. Second half we had the wind going with us and put 5 in the back of the net.
Team Scorers: Nicki-2, Lisa-3, Kim-1, Shan-1
June 3: We tied 1-1 against Mario’s Towing Wreckers who we beat 5-1 last game. Felt we lacked intensity and passion today with the heat. We had many shots, but couldn’t finish our goals in the back of the net.
Team Scorers: Kim-1
Received our new blue jerseys today (sponsored by Teamfitness, Liz Sage) and they look fabulous!
Thanks Boss (:
Next Game: June 10th at CNC Turf Field at 9:15pm against the Rebels.

Congratulations chicks! Getting back on the saddle and facing the downhill demons is the best way to conquer your fears and apprehensions. Cory lead the pack up and down with a steady pack climb and flowing decent.

Koodos to our new clipped in chick. Lisa you exceeded a newbie run. Way to go! Keep clipped in and get out and fall a few times. Best way to build your confidence.
Welcome Joanne and Sarah first time up Crawford with the group.
Next week we will be taking on the Glenmore trails and riding to Glenmore from the shop. Possy departs from Venture Gear @ 6pm sharp. If you have to drive meet us at Ballou Park in Glenmore.
*Note* the ride there is a necessary warm up and an easy cruise.
Driving Directions:
Spall to Glenmore through the lights at Kelowna Golf and Country Club, you are now on Glenmore Rd. Stay on Glenmore till you pass Brandt’s Creek Pub. Next left at the lights is Ballou on the left and Kane on the right. Turn left on Ballou to the end of the Road. Ballou Park is on the left before the road vears right. We’ll be waiting!
As always it is our pleasure to coach, encourage and share in your triumps chicks. You done did good!
If you were one of the chicks who road through the 30 foot puddle last week

Well, that makes traveling to see the boys really easy. Now I don’t have to divide my attention or cheers. Kids move in with one another. OMG who knew they would actually become pals. They must be growing up….is it possible!
Great to see them live their dreams.
