Chicks Connect Triumphantly…
How we manage to continue to miss the downpours is beyond me, however, the appearance of this sure fire sign 15 minutes prior to the launch of our evening ride, was sure to bring a good omen!
AND it did! A joint jaunt upward on Fairlane brought a new sense of trail awareness as this usual descent trail seemed altogether an entirely different route. Until however, we found the elusive climb that on descending occasions, particularly during skills camp was the nemesis trail for most campers. However, the ‘chicks’ had terrific fitness to conquer if not the entire climb, a good dent for initial benchmark was established.
Keep working on fitness rides each week and a conquer is sure to come! Jessica your rides with your mate are clearly paying off on your climbs! So great to see.
Our ‘B’ riders saw the sun pop out on a skinny cruise down windfall and a welcoming and unexpected connection with ‘not too daunting’ bottom half of connector. Sure to be a full trail ride as skill levels and strength build this season. Thanks for the great energy and optimism from all the die hard riders and newbie rookies who made the best decision on a Wednesday night…..to just show up and the rest just takes care of itself!
Rookies building confidence climbed with tenacity easily on the tails of seasoned ‘chicks’ are to be commended. Welcome to our newcomers Tia (insert right). Our youngest chicklet ever! Thanks to all who made her first experience a positive one along with Rosslyn and Nadene. They were jumping logs by rides end and as Sandy says ‘it would have never happened if the group wasn’t scheduled to ride’ Remember there is no such thing as bad weather…just bad clothes! A great affirmation for ’shopping’!

…and our boys club at Union Cycle who continue to ensure our ‘chicks’ are safe on the trails with the best of service and gear! Reminder all chicks should be packing a spare tube every ride. Full finger gloves are highly recommended along with a quick release seat post! Go see our boys at Union Cycle!
Our no drop motto allows for all levels to have an accomplished ride to toleration and we appreciate that everyone remembers they were once a novice rider too. Your encouraging words and example have made this program a success. “Come as you are, no matter where you are and ride the ride you challenge yourself to do!
This weeks ride June 9th all and any newcomers meet at UNION CYCLE @ 5:45pm. Please introduce yourself to our coaches. Pick up a spare tube, check the air in your tires and see if your seat post can be changed to a quick release!

6:00pm Depart to Crawford for all levels
Leaving trail head by 6:30
INCLEMENT WEATHER if it is raining hard we will not be riding; however, drizzle makes us fizzle cause the trails are sticky and beekoning us!
