Hydration kills hills!
Thanks to Kim, Cory and Heather who have helped to keep our chicks safe well guided and entertained.

This weeks ride will see cooler temperatures than you experienced last week. A whopping 35 degrees when you are climbing is not my idea of fun. A reminder that we have not had to talk about hydration till this point as we’ve had cooler and wet temperatures till now. So, if you do not have a camel pack, now is the time to fetch one. Heat stroke can easily creep up on you if you are not sipping regularly on the climb. Also, a good idea to drink 8 to 12 ounces an hour before you ride and stay well hydated throughout the day.
A big feather fan to Sue, who forgot her lid on the ride and managed to drive home pick it up and short cut the climb to the flats in time to meet with the gals for a fun descent down windfall meeting with the bottom of connector. Such a fun run. Good on y’all.
You know how well thought of our ‘chicks in the sticks’ program is when bike shops are sending out of towners to meet up with our rides. Glad you showed such great hospitality to our visitor this week!
Our ‘C’ group welcomes back Tina! and newcomer Jessica…managed this week by Kimberley (thanks Kimberley) had a good climb as a unit and then fanned out to accomodate the varying needs of chickapants. Just a reminder that our goal is to ensure everyone has a safe experience and protocol is a gathered group for descent. This ride is a 6:30 to 8:30 commitment to ensure we take the time to work on DH skills and experiment with different trails. If this program is not meeting your needs perhaps we can suggest some alternative options to help get you to your next level of riding competence. Please call or email liz@teamfitnessbc.com with your concerns, suggestions or challenges. We are here to foster a continued great experience!
